Itching After Period.
May. 21st, 2009 @ 11:25 pm
Alright, I just got off my period about two days ago and ever since my vagina has been itching and burning. Not only on the inside but my skin is irritated too. There Is no discharge or anything and I doubt it could be a yeast infection. Plus I was using scented pads so I'm wondering if that could of irritated it too. The first three days I was wearing my normal pads, everything was normal but then my mom bought Always scented and I used those for the last two days. Now it's itching and burning. There is NO way I can get to a vagina doctor either so please, help?|
Yeah, the scented pads could totally have caused that. Maybe try a baking soda sitz bath, or some hydrocortisone cream?
seconded. this works for me when my vulva are so freaking itchy i feel like i'm going to die (which randomly happens every few months after my period...).
i was gonna suggest a baking soda bath as well :)
While I don't have help for your current situation (other than pouring milk on your crotch because that works for any other skin irritation, but that's not very appealing), scented pads can definitely cause itching. When I used pads and tampons (instead of cloth pads)everything would itch for DAYS. The one time I used scented pads, all hell broke loose in cunt-land.
Maybe if you alternate between regular pads and a different product that has a different texture it would alleviate any problems of that. I hope you feel better soon :)
I agree with herongrrrl - try a baking soda bath, this can really help if the itching is terrible. Also if there's anything else wrong (yeast infection) while it will not 'fix' the infection, it will relieve the itching for a while so you could organise getting treatment. Good luck, hope you and your poon are happy soon :P
scented products, like products with sugar, belong nowhere near your vagina. throw those things away and soak.
I never, ever, ever use any sort of scented ANYTHING near that area. I wash with warm soap and water, or a mild baby-soap if the need calls for it. I recommend a baking soda sitz bath and nice comfy cotton undies -- NO THONGS, as it will irritate you further right now.
